PARADISE ... 2Description of Paradise in the Hadith

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "The people of Paradise will look at the dwellers of lofty mansions (i.e. a superior place in Paradise) in the same way as one looks at a brilliant star, far away in the East or in the West of the horizon. This is because of their superiority over one another (in reward)." One of the people asked, "O Allah's Messenger, are these lofty mansions for the Prophets which no one else can reach?" The Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, replied, "No! By Allah, in whose Hands is my life, these are for men who believe in Allah and also believe in the Messenger." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Abu Mousa al-Ash'ari narrated that the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "Verily, for the believers in Paradise, are tents made of a single hollow pear. The length of which would be sixty miles long from all sides, their wives being therein. The believer will go around them (i.e., visit them) and they will not be able to see each other." (Sahih al-Jami)

Abu Hurairah said that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "There is not a tree in Paradise, except that its trunk is made of gold." (Sahih al-Jami)

Anas ibn Malik narrated that the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "Verily in Paradise there is a market in which (the inhabitants of Paradise) will come to every Friday. The North wind will blow and scatter fragrances on their faces and on their clothes. This will add to their beauty and their attractiveness. They will then go back to their families after having an added luster to their beauty and their attractiveness. Their families will say to them, 'By Allah you have been increased in beauty and loveliness after leaving us,' and they will say, 'By Allah you too have increased in beauty and attractiveness after us.'" (Muslim)

Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "(I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold. I asked, 'Whose is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraysh.' So I thought it might be I, so I asked, 'And who is he?' They said, 'Umar Ibnul Khattab.' Nothing stopped me form entering it except your Ghirah (sense of honor)." Umar said, "My Ghirah would never be offended by you, O Messenger of Allah." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Anas ibn Malik said that Allah's Apostle sallallahu alayhe wasallam, said, "I entered Paradise and found myself by a river, by its edges were tents of pearls. Then I tapped with my hands where the water was running, and there was then a beautiful smell of Musk. I asked, 'What is this O Gabriel?' He said, 'This is Kawthar (river in Paradise) which Allah has given to you.'" (Sahih al-Jami)

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 4:51, Narrated Abu Huraira
The Prophet said, "A place in Paradise as small as the bow or lash of one of you is better than all the world and whatever is in it"

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 4:569, Narrated Abu Huraira
Then Allah [swt] will say (to him): 'I have forbidden Paradise for the disbelievers.'

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 6:373, Narrated Abu Huraira

The Prophet said, "Paradise and the Fire (Hell) argued, and the Fire (Hell) said, 'I have been given the privilege of receiving the arrogant and the tyrants.' Paradise said, 'What is the matter with me? Why do only the weak and the humble among the people enter me?' On that, Allah said to Paradise, 'You are My Mercy which I bestow on whoever I wish of my servants.' Then Allah said to the (Hell) Fire, 'You are my (means of) punishment by which I punish whoever I wish of my slaves. And each of you will have its fill.' As for the Fire (Hell), it will not be filled till Allah puts His Foot over it whereupon it will say, 'Qati! Qati!' At that time it will be filled, and its different parts will come closer to each other; and Allah will not wrong any of His created beings. As regards Paradise, Allah will create a new creation to fill it with."

Do you think there is only one Paradise? There are many Paradises and your son is in the (most superior) Paradise of Al-Firdaus."

Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause."

I heard the Prophet saying, "A (small) place equal to an area occupied by a whip in Paradise is better than the (whole) world and whatever is in it; and an undertaking (journey) in the forenoon or in the afternoon for Allah's Cause, is better than the whole world and whatever is in it."

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: In Paradise, there is a tree under the shadow of which a rider can travel for a hundred years.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 5054

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said that Allah would say to the inmates of Paradise: O Dwellers of Paradise, and they would say in response: At your service and pleasure, our Lord, the good is in Your Hands. He (the Lord) would say: Are you well pleased now? They would say: Why should we not be pleased, O Lord, You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creatures? He would, however, say: May I give you (something) even more superior than that? And they would say: O Lord, what can be more excellent than this? And He would say: I will cause My pleasure to alight upon you and I will never be afterwards annoyed with you.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 5057
Sahl bin Sa'd, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The inmates of Paradise will look to the upper Ghuraf (apartments) of Paradise as you see the planets in the sky

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Abu Al-Qasim (the Holy Prophet) (may peace be upon him) said: The (members) of the first group to get into Paradise would have their faces as bright as full moon during the night, and the next to this group would have their faces as bright as the shining stars in the sky, and every person would have two wives and the marrow of their shanks would glimmer beneath the flesh and there would be none without a wife in Paradise.

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: In Paradise there would be for a believer a tent of a single hollowed pearl the breadth of which would be sixty miles. The believer would have wives therein, and the believer would go around them; and none of them would be able to see the others.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 5070

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in his own image with his height of sixty cubits, and as He created him He told him to greet that group, which was a party of angels sitting there, and listen to the response that they give him, for it would form his greeting and that of his offspring. He then went away and said: Peace be upon you! They (the angels) said: May there be peace upon you and the Mercy of Allah, and they made an addition of "Mercy of Allah". So he who would get into Paradise would get in the form of Adam, his length being sixty cubits, then the people who followed him continued to diminish in size up to this day.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: The fire which the son of Adam has is only one-seventieth part of the Fire of Hell. His Companions said: By Allah, even ordinary fire would have been enough (to burn people). Thereupon he said: It is sixty-nine parts in excess of (the heat of) fire in this world each of them being equivalent to their heat.

Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 5077
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: I have prepared for My pious servants' bounties which no eye (has ever) seen, no ear has (ever) heard and no human heart has ever perceived, about which Allah has informed you in the Qur'an. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do
